Ten suns mysteriously appear in the sky, devastating life on Earth. After Hou Yi shoots down nine of them, the gods reward him with two immortality pills: one for him and one for his wife, Chang’e. But why does Chang’e take them both, and where does it take her? Waning Crescent is a new play that offers an alternative perspective to the classic Chinese myth of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess, re-contextualizing her choices and illuminating the undefined.
